PAC/SEAC

The Parent Advisory Council/Special Education Advisory Council (PAC/SEAC) is an opportunity for you to contribute opinions, experiences and ideas about how LGA educates your student, and it allows LGA staff to ask for your input regarding policies and programs it is considering.

The Lionsgate Community welcomes all family members of current students to attend the PAC/SEAC meetings. You may drop in and stay for all or part of any meeting. Lionsgate strives for open communication and continuous improvement. Your input helps us stay engaged and aware of the needs of our students and families.

At our next meeting, you’ll learn about employment related services, supports and opportunities for young people with barriers to employment, including having a documented disability. Lionsgate’s Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Representatives Kevin O’Brien (MTKA campus) and Shanda Copeland (SHV campus) will be presenting on Pre-ETS and Vocational Rehabilitation (Voc Rehab) Services for students that can begin in high school and Joan Frentz will also be joining the meeting to discuss youth employment opportunities available through the nonprofit Tree Trust. If there is any remaining time, Lionsgate’s District Transition Coordinator Sara Bydzovsky will share additional summer youth employment programs for students who live in specific cities in the metro area, including St Paul, Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park.

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, February 27th, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
